Sue Whiteside is the Director of Tennis at StoneRidge Country Club. Sue has spent her entire professional life teaching tennis at Country Clubs and coaching Collegiate Teams. Sue comes from a tennis playing family having started her tennis career at a young age in Florida. When Sue was 13, her family moved to State College, Pennsylvania, home of the Nittany Lions at Penn State. Sue stayed close to home during her collegiate tennis career for 4 years on the Penn State Women's Tennis Team.
She spent 9 years at her alma mater as the Head Women's Tennis Coach prior to moving to Southern California and entering the club world. Sue's belief that Teamwork (Together Everyone Accomplishes More) is the main ingredient in moving players to the next level in their game.
Currently, Sue has about 100 ladies that play league tennis at StoneRidge. Since Sue arrived here, our ladies teams have walked away with more than 20 league titles. In addition, one year after her arrival, Sue won the 2003 San Diego Female Pro of the Year award. Sue has stayed in collegiate coaching here in San Diego through her position as the coach of the San Diego City College Women's Tennis Team. Sue has the ability to help players find more confidence in themselves and play at a higher level. She has produced nationally ranked players, team conference champions, singles conference champions and NCAA qualifiers in both singles and doubles. This year she helped to produce the singles conference champion, Katy Nethery, who was recently voted to be an All-American.
Ralph Acostaplayed on the San Diego City College State Champion Tennis Team. In addition he competed at San Diego State University and on the Pacific Northwest Pro Tour. He has been a Tennis Columnist for the Star Newspaper and Bonita Post. He was a Rater for the USTA National Tennis Rating Program and a tester for the United States Professional Tennis Association. He has been a Tennis Professional at the following clubs: Chula Vista Tennis Center, Rod Laver's Tennis Ranch, Head Pro at Bonita Valley Tennis Club, San Diego Tennis and Racquet Club, Barne's Tennis Center and Head Pro at StoneRidge Country Club since 1998.
Ralph has a USPTA Professional Level 1 Certification with 30 years of teaching experience. In 2006, Ralph received the prestigious USTA Teaching Professional of the Year Award for the San Diego and Coachella Valley areas.
Matt Seideman began playing tennis at the age of 6. At 19 he began his tennis teaching career at the Rancho Bernardo Community Tennis Club in 1996. A year later, he went to the Rancho Santa Fe Tennis Club where he coached adults and juniors for over 9 years. He was owner of the tennis pro shop in Rancho Santa Fe and is an expert racquet stringer and racquet technician. Matt received his Bachelors Degree in Advertising from San Diego State University and is a former number one collegiate singles player as well as recipient of the honorable student athlete award. Matt is currently a Dunlop team staff member and has been Director of Junior Tennis Development at StoneRidge Country Club since 2006.
